Hi, I’m Rachael.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Reiki Master Teacher.
I work with individuals and couples searching to build greater meaning and confidence in their lives. I specialize in trauma, secondary traumatic stress, burnout, relationship issues, and suicide intervention/prevention. Having worked in healthcare systems for the last 15 years, I have a special interest in treating healthcare workers and other professionals. My goal is to help people come back to living a full embodied experience; allowing them to whole heartedly show up for themselves and others.
Originally from New York, I earned my bachelors degree in psychology from Fordham University. I then made my way to San Diego where I received my masters degree in marriage and family therapy from the University of San Diego. The last ten years of my clinical experience have been spent working for UC San Diego Health’s HEAR Program (https://hear.ucsd.edu), treating physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
It was only during the COVID-19 pandemic that I realized treating trauma required more than just psychotherapy. It would require other modalities that would bring people and their essence back into their bodies. Therefore, I pursued a master teacher certificate in Reiki which has allowed me to provide holistic and intuitive support to my clients.
I continue to educate myself and incorporate body centered approaches to treating trauma, like Somatic Experiencing, which allow individuals to release stored tension and trauma and promote resilience and self regulation.
When I’m not helping others, you can find me nature bathing in a national park, traveling, water coloring, and spending quality time with my family, friends, and two cats, Icarus and Desi.
